We're counting down the days until Philly Beer Week! Here's what we have planned during our favorite week of the year, and beyond:

150th Anniversary Celebration - Beef & Beer Dinner
|
|
 On Sunday, June 6, we are throwing a massive "Creative Black Tie Beef & Beer Dinner" to celebrate our 150th Anniversary.
For the first time in modern history, we'll close the establishment & Drury Street for a 2-story, inside/outside, ticketed gala. Meet local brewers & savor their beer at our only Philly Beer Week event. Tickets include Premium Open Bar (29 Craft Beers, Domestic & Imported Draft Beers, Wine & Cocktails), Meet the Brewers (Ithaca, Victory, Stoudts & more), Dinner Buffet (Carved Beef, Irish Potato Bar, McGillin's Favorites buffet & Salad Station), Entertainment (Bag Piper, DJ, live Irish music by Patsy from Boston, pianist outside) & Prizes for the most Creative "Black Tie" Dressers.
By the way, what does Creative "Black Tie" mean? It could be a tux t-shirt, the jeans & tee you usually wear to party at McGillin's, your Grandfather's baby blue tux or what you wore to prom. We don't care - just come dressed for fun!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, which works to integrate immigrants (like the McGillin family) into the social, economic & cultural fiber of the city.

 Local Brewers Pub Crawl -- As if serving 20 local beers every day wasn't enough...the Philly Beer Week pub crawl culminates with a party at McGillin's. On Wed nesday, June 9 at 10 p.m., meet all 7 brewers at McGillin's. And taste all 7 of their beers for only $2 a mug!
 Ale & Arts Walking Adventure -- The Mural Arts Program is leading Ale & Arts Tours on Thursdays from May 27 through September 2. Visit 10 murals and 3 bars, including a stop here for our refreshing McGillin's 1860 IPA. While you enjoy our 1860 IPA, we'll regale you with stories about our colorful history! For tickets.

150 Beers for 150 Years

New Beers -- In our continuing quest to serve 150 different beers during our 150th year, we're updated our beer list to include many new, local & regional micro-brews. Several beers have made their Philadelphia debut at McGillin's! Our newest brews are Victory's Pursuit Pale Ale; Ramstein's Maibock & Old Dominion's Millennium Ale (Barley Wine style).

 Sundays -- Sundays just got even better! We'll be open all day & night -- from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Start your Sunday with our new brunch, available 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Saturdays too!) McGillin's Olde Ale House turns 150
|
In 2010, McGillin's Olde Ale House is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a series of parties and the roll out of its own beer, McGillin's 1860 IPA. McGillin's opened in 1860, the year Lincoln was elected. McGillin's, Philadelphia's oldest continuously operating tavern, is a stone's throw from City Hall, Loews Philadelphia Hotel, the Philadelphia Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton and other Center City hotels. A private upstairs room for 90 plus guests is available for beer tastings, bus groups, fundraisers, and more. Tavern hours: Mondays through Sundays from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.
